Our story, our team, and the principles that drive everything we do.
lite-shield began in 2014 when our founders noticed a troubling pattern. Intelligent, capable people were making poor financial decisions — not because they lacked common sense, but because no one had ever taught them the fundamentals.
Schools rarely cover practical money management. Universities focus on theory. And by the time most people realise they need help, they have already developed habits that work against them.
We decided to fill that gap. Our mission from day one has been to make financial literacy accessible, practical, and dare we say, occasionally enjoyable. We started with small workshops in Edinburgh and gradually expanded as word spread about our approach.
Today, we work with individuals and businesses across the United Kingdom, but our core philosophy remains unchanged: everyone deserves to understand their finances, and that understanding should come without condescension or unnecessary complexity.
The people behind lite-shield bring decades of combined experience in finance, education, and client service.
Co-Founder and Director. Former investment banker who spent 15 years in the City before realising his passion lay in education rather than transactions. David leads our strategy and client relationships.
Co-Founder and Education Director. A qualified accountant and former university lecturer, Emma designs our programmes and ensures every client receives genuinely useful, practical guidance.
Senior Consultant. With a background in corporate finance and small business consulting, Robert specialises in helping growing companies establish robust financial foundations.
The beliefs that shape how we work with every client.
We measure success not by how long clients stay with us, but by how confidently they can manage without us. Our goal is to make ourselves unnecessary.
We tell clients what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. Sometimes that means pointing out uncomfortable truths about spending habits or unrealistic expectations.
There is no universal financial plan that works for everyone. We take time to understand each client's unique situation, priorities, and constraints before offering advice.
Academic knowledge of finance means little if you cannot apply it. Every concept we teach comes with real-world applications and actionable steps.

The characteristics that make our approach different.
We are not trying to sell you financial products. Our only incentive is to provide useful education. This means our advice is genuinely impartial.
Whether you need a single consultation or ongoing support over years, we structure our services around your needs rather than forcing you into rigid packages.
Finance is full of jargon that often serves to confuse rather than clarify. We explain everything in straightforward terms that anyone can understand.
